Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Kara is currently the Head of the Theatre Arts Department at Mentor College, Mississauga. She graduated with Honors from Queen’s University while studying Drama and Artist in the Community Education; she has also completed The Second City Conservatory Program in Toronto.
Some of her roles include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors (Manak Productions), Polly in Crazy For You (Queen’s University), Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers (Queen's University), and most recently Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee (Lock and Keynote Productions). Her Fringe 2008 performance of Ella in Ike and Pearl (Palais Productions) earned her the acknowledgment of ‘Outstanding Performance’ in NOW Magazine. She began her directing career in 2011 with Lock and Keynote Productions, and has never looked back.
Kara is competitively trained in Tap, Jazz and Ballet at I’ve Got Rhythm School of Dance, where she attained her Teacher’s Certificate in Jazz and Stage (tap) through The British Association of Teachers of Dancing.
